Reflexión
La ambientación de Adriana Escudero que lleva este título, consigue articular un espacio altamente estimulante implementando pocos elementos. En el arte actual es muy característico observar obras que trabajan con economía de elementos, a cambio de elegirlos y combinarlos del modo más creativo y misterioso posible.
La sencillez de la disposición visual vuelve a la obra de Adriana Escudero muy seductora, y activa el espacio convirtiéndolo en un ámbito colmado de secuencias de formas y de efectos visuales. La artista se ha referido con acierto, al comentar este proyecto, al origen del vocablo reflexión: se trata de un concepto filosófico del siglo XVII, introducido por John Locke, que describe la capacidad de organizar ideas por la vía del pensamiento.
Reflexión está concebida partiendo de la disposición neo-minimalista de módulos de plexiglás soportados por piezas de madera (por cierto, el uso intencional del piso es otra cualidad muy desarrollada en el periodo contemporáneo de arte). La incidencia de los flujos de luz proyectados por las lámparas sobre los módulos traslúcidos es convertida en una trama de hermosos meandros reflejados en los muros del espacio de exhibición.
Luna
En este caso, la obra consiste en un objeto suspendido: un espejo circular, intervenido con un proceso de ácido, que tiene grabada la imagen de la luna en la superficie reflejante. El móvil de la pieza es proyectar –usando la fuente de luz procedente de una sola lámpara- la silueta y la textura del satélite de la Tierra. Además del aspecto obviamente técnico, es interesante que la obra haya sido pensada por Adriana Escudero para un espacio oscuro, cuestión que detona y potencia el halo enigmático que presenta tanto el espejo flotante como la incidencia del reflejo. La luna es una iconografía con una inmensa historia cultural y antropológica.
Escalera
La escalera representa el ascenso gnoseológico, es decir, el avance del saber y del conocimiento en el devenir de la civilización humana. Curiosamente, también es la metáfora que habla sobre el camino a lo subterráneo o a lo ultraterreno (aunque, desde un punto de vista completo, es una figura que alude, en igual medida, al subir tanto como al bajar). Imagen doble, ejemplo de la capacidad de la mente para crear elementos sintéticos resultado de complejos procedimientos de análisis, la escalera es una elección poética de Adriana Escudero, cuya visión sobre este objeto es una suerte de enunciado sagrado.
The light energy display as core and purpose of the aesthetic device is within the most subtle and charming but also most powerful experiences that many artists have explore in the contemporary age. The presence of the light phenomenon is related to the search of a kind of art characterized by the physical evanescence and conceptual lightness, with the sense of immateriality of matter, but also with the possibility of face the spectator with a reality in ecstasy.
Reflection
This setting gets a highly stimulating space with few elements. The simplicity of the visual display turns Adriana Escudero’s work in a very seductive one and activates the space turning it in an area full of form sequences and visual effects. The artist refers to the term reflection: a philosophical concept form 17th century by John Locke, that describes the capacity to organize ideas by thinking. Reflection is conceived from the neo-minimalist disposition of Plexiglas supported by wood pieces. The incidence of light flows projected over translucent is converted in a beautiful weave of bends reflected in the walls of the space. The atmosphere does not reduce its speech to luminous perception, though. Escudero is interested in bind together formal processes with an interpretation of light in affective and psychic terms.
Moon
In this case, the piece is a floating object: a circular mirror, intervened with a acid process, with the image of the moon craved in the reflecting surface. The objective of the piece is to project – using one single lamp – the silhouette and texture of Earth’s satellite. Beyond the technical aspects, it is interesting that the work has been designed for a dark space, that detonates and strengthens the enigmatic aura of the floating mirror and the reflection incidence.
Ladder
The ladder represents the advance of the knowledge in human civilization. Oddly enough, it is also the metaphor about the road to the underground. Double image, example of the capacity of the mind to create synthetic elements as a result of complex procedures of analysis, the ladder is a poetic choice of the artist, whose vision about this object is a sort of sacred statement Ladder, opens a new door to the hypnotic Universe of art in neon. At first sight, it seems that the piece represents the experience of the ascent: the temperature and intensity of luminous specter is more noticeable in the first steps, as inviting to climb. However, the display of luminescence at the bottom of the ladder, reminds us the equally impressive conclusion of the best of Romanticism: the descent is also a form dazzling of truth.
