Toreros de Luz está compuesta por 60 paneles, cada uno representando a un torero distinto, en diferentes movidas de la corrida.
Surgiendo de las paredes bajo los clamores de la multitud iluminando al torero, estos 60 paneles “arrepentimientos” muestran un espejo, reflejando, la propia imagen de quien los mira.
Light Toreros consist of 60 panels, each representing a different torero in different moves of the run.
Emerging from the walls under the cries of the crowd illuminating the bullfighter, these 60 panels "regrets" show a mirror reflecting the image of the poster looks.
Nacido en 1946 en Uchaud, Francia, Jean Pierre Formica vive y trabaja entre París y Aigues Mortes. Egresado de la escuela de Bellas Artes de París y de Montpellier, actualmente enseña en la escuela Nacional de arquitectura Val de Seine.
Pintor antes que nada, su trabajo está hecho de fragmentos y de repetición. Desde los años 70, encuentra su inspiración en la cultura mediterránea y la tauromaquia, y realiza trabajos sobre la memoria, el rastro, la huella, la acumulación, la sedimentación.
Expuso, entre otros lugares, en la Capilla de los jesuitas de Nîmes, en el Museo de Toulon, en el Museo de Montbéliard, en la Plaza de Toros de Nîmes y en la de Arles, en el MAMAC de Niza, en el Espacio Paul Riquet de Béziers, en el Espacio Vallès en Grenoble y en el Instituto francés de Tel Aviv. En 2010, ocupó las cavas del célebre productor de champán Pommery, y publicó en las ediciones Actes Sud (Francia) un libro sobre sus cuadernillos de corrida. También colaboró en varios proyectos para la alta costura con Christian Lacroix. De igual manera, participó en las Noches Blancas de París, y en tres ediciones del festival a-part: en 2010, 2012 y 2014.
Born in 1946 in Uchaud, France, Jean Pierre Formica lives and works between Paris and Aigues Mortes. A graduate of the Ecole des Beaux Arts in Paris and Montpellier, currently teaches at the National School of Architecture Val de Seine.
Painter above all, his work is made from fragments and repetition. Since the 70s, has been inspired by the Mediterranean culture and bullfighting, and has performed works about the memory, trace, footprints, accumulation and sedimentation.
He has exhibited, among other places, in the Chapel of the Jesuits of Nimes, at the Museum of Toulon, at the Museum of Montbéliard, in the Plaza de Toros de Nimes and Arles in on the MAMAC in Nice, in the Paul Area Riquet Beziers, in the Valles area in Grenoble and the French Institute in Tel Aviv. In 2010, he intervened the cellars of the famous champagne producer Pommery, and published with the publisher Actes Sud (France) a book about his booklets about bullfighting. He also collaborated on several projects for couture Christian Lacroix. He has also participated in the White Nights of Paris, and on three editions of the A-part Festival: in 2010, 2012 and 2014.
