La Escarpa del Arte nace de la inquietud de los organizadores, al notar que, a pesar de existir varios talleres artísticos en la Ciudad de Mérida, muchos de éstos están limitados a un tipo de público en particular, dejando así el círculo artístico muy privado y fuera del alcance del resto de las personas.
Por lo anterior, se sigue reforzando la creencia popular de que el arte es exclusivo de una élite o de un grupo de personas expertas en él, cuando realmente, el arte debe de estar al alcance de todos, al igual que el conocimiento de sus técnicas y disciplinas.
La mayor motivación al realizar este proyecto es el notorio interés de las personas que nos rodean, su emoción de participar en actividades culturales, así como la importancia del estímulo artístico y creativo en la vida diaria.
Este proyecto invita al público en general, estudiantes, familias, extranjeros y personas de diferentes edades a ser parte de un evento artístico en un ambiente asequible y familiar. De la misma manera, busca crear un espacio de dominio público, óptimo para el desarrollo creativo y expresión artística de los participantes, interviniendo las calles de la ciudad, volviéndose un centro de entretenimiento y aprendizaje artístico al alcance de todos.
The Scarp of Art ‘La Escarpa del Arte’ is born out of the concern of the organizers, when noticing that, regardless of there being several artistic workshops in the city of Merida, many of these are limited to a particular type of public, thus making the artistic circle very private and out of the reach of the rest of the people.
Because of the previous, the popular believe that art is exclusive to the elite or to a group of art experts, keeps being reinforced, when actually art should be at the reach of everyone, just like the knowledge of its techniques and disciplines.
The biggest motivation when making this Project is the obvious interest of the people around us, their excitement when participating of the cultural activities as well as the importance of the artistic and creative stimulus in everyday life.
This Project invites the general public, students, families, foreigners and people of different ages to be part of an artistic event in an easily accessible and family environment. In the same token, it is looking to create a public domain space that is optimum for the creative development and artistic expression of the participants, going out on the streets of the cities, turning them into an entertainment center of artistic learning at everybody’s reach.
