Miras al cielo; ahí no reconoces nada que sea familiar, solo nubes extrañas que caminan deprisa; el sol se enciende sobre los árboles y el viento es extrañamente frío. No obstante sabes que hay algo diferente en todo eso, algo que parece una extraña fantasía; la forma en la que brillan las cosas. De pronto aparece una palabra, una sola, que asciende al cielo, solo tu puedes verla, solo tu puedes leerla y saber que está ahí para decirte algo.
Porque ahora has entendido algo que antes ignorabas por completo.

You look at the heavens; you do not recognize anything familiar there, only strange clouds walking in a rush; the sun lights up over the trees and the wind is strangely cold. Still, you know that there’s something different about it all, something very much like a strange fantasy; the way things shine. All of a sudden a word comes up, only one, it is ascending to the sky, only you can see it and know that it is there to tell you something.
For just now have you understood something that you totally ignored before.

Nací en el año 1993 y vivo en Mérida Yucatán casi desde siempre; ciudad que engendra múltiples tránsitos, ajenos por completos a los del resto del país luego de haber podido compararlos. La tranquilidad, el arraigado sentimiento de seguridad y su historia como pueblo oprimido, son elementos que caracterizan a Mérida y que discurren en sus múltiples espacios; y es la instalación para mi el medio ideal para hablar sobre El Espacio, inquietud de la cual se desprende mi obra; la forma en la que se delimita y se multiplica; el espacio virtual, la transición de espacio a paisaje y el acto de observar detenidamente. Por medio de luces, video proyección y espejos creo atmosferas que invitan a evocar la otredad y la pertenencia de los lugares; la introspección y la reflexión poética de los espacios.
Y sobre todo que las personas se hagan la pregunta ¿qué está pasando aquí? Como parte de ese ensueño, esa magia a la que se supone la instalación debe apelar.
Born in 1993 and I´ve lived in Mérida Yucatán for almost ever; casi desde siempre; a city which after having been able to compare, spawns multiple transits, totally unconcerned to those of the rest of the country. The calm, that deep seated feeling of confidence, and its history of oppressed people, are elements that characterize Merida and that flow over its multiple spaces; and installation represents for me the perfect mean to talk about The Space, curiosity from which my work comes; the shape in which it delimits and multiplies; the virtual space, the transition from space to landscape and the act of very carefully observing. By means of light, video projection and mirrors I create atmospheres that invite evoking the otherness and belonging of places; the introspection and poetic reflection of spaces.
And more than anything for people to ask themselves the same question, what is going on here? As part of this reverie, the magic to which the installation should appeal.
