Los protagonistas de este taller son objetos luminosos y la creatividad del participante. A los participantes se les brinda la opción de elegir alguno de los objetos luminosos (lámparas) y se colocarán frente a la cámara en el escenario previamente preparado con una tela negra de fondo.
La cámara fotográfica se prepara con el obturador abierto por completo. Al momento de tomar la fotografía, el participante tiene de 15 a 20 segundos para dibujar en el aire con la lámpara, así todo rastro de luz que se haga en ese tiempo, quedará registrado en la fotografía, para posteriormente ser proyectada.
A los más pequeños, para poder participar, se les pide estar acompañados de un adulto.
The protagonists of this workshop are luminous objects and the participant’s creativity. The participants are offered the option of choosing one of the luminous objects (lamps) and will be placed in front of the camera on the stage previously prepared with a black material as a background.
The camera is then prepared with the shutter fully opened. Right when the picture is taken, the participant has 15 to 20 seconds to draw something in the air with the lamp, thus all trace of light made at the moment, shall remain recorded in the picture, so as to be projected later on.
The youngest are asked to be accompanied by an adult in order to take part.

La Escarpa del Arte nace de la inquietud de los organizadores, al notar que, a pesar de existir varios talleres artísticos en la Ciudad de Mérida, muchos de éstos están limitados a un tipo de público en particular, dejando así el círculo artístico muy privado y fuera del alcance del resto de las personas.
The Scarp of Art ‘La Escarpa del Arte’ is born out of the concern of the organizers, when noticing that, regardless of there being several artistic workshops in the city of Merida, many of these are limited to a particular type of public, thus making the artistic circle very private and out of the reach of the rest of the people.
Because of the previous, the popular believe that art is exclusive to the elite or to a group of art experts, keeps being reinforced, when actually art should be at the reach of everyone, just like the knowledge of its techniques and disciplines.
